Olivia Young took the pregnancy tests into the bathroom. She did several, just to be sure.
These days, pregnancy tests show results in under a minute.
Two lines.
She really was pregnant.
Frederick Fairfax really was something else.
Olivia Young opened the door, holding a test. "Congratulations, you're about to be a father of two."
"Honey!"
Frederick Fairfax hugged her tightly. "How long am I going to have morning sickness this time?"
"No idea."
After all, she's not the one who gets sick.
She really had said, if she had a second baby, Frederick Fairfax would have to help her through it. Now her words had come true.
He actually waited for baby number two to come along.
"I don't know why, but it feels like you're enjoying my misery."
"Having a baby is good news! If I don't laugh, should I cry for you instead?" Olivia Young grinned, eyes curling with delight. "I have to tell my parents about this happy occasion."
"Mm..."
Go ahead.
But then he'll have to secretly endure morning sickness at home again.
Is there any way to stop a man’s morning sickness?
Can he take medicine for it?
Olivia Young hooked his pinky with hers and tugged him out of the bathroom.
"Are you upset because of the morning sickness?"
"I am not upset!"
Frederick Fairfax scooped her up in a bridal carry. "I'm super happy, Xiyue. Pregnancy is already so hard on you. It's only right I shoulder the morning sickness for you."
He hadn't always thought this way.
Olivia Young caressed his neck, her fingertips tracing lightly and flirtatiously. "Now that I'm pregnant, someone won't be allowed to climb into bed anymore. You'll just have to endure it."
"Honey, we didn't do anything last pregnancy. This time we'll make up for it."
What was he planning?
No way, no way!
She’d be mortified.
Olivia Young shared the news of her second pregnancy in the family group chat.
Her parents, Frederick Fairfax’s parents, and Grandfather all sent her money right away.
Quentin Young, who was abroad, was so excited he wanted to fly home immediately.
His dad scolded him and told him to finish his overseas agreements before coming back.
So Quentin Young messaged Frederick Fairfax, telling him to take good care of his sister.
He promised that once he was back, he'd help look after Yana.
Frederick Fairfax held Olivia Young in his left arm while texting back with his right, insisting he didn't need help.
Yana was only a little over two years old, but the family had already hired lots of tutors for her.
Olivia Young was just pregnant, that was all.
And he was still here.
"Honey~"
"Can you stand up for a second?"
As soon as Olivia Young stood, Frederick Fairfax dashed for the bathroom.
She heard the sounds of vomiting inside.
"Ugh~"
"Ah~"
Poor thing.
Olivia Young rubbed her belly. "Baby, please take it easy on your dad, let him get through this pregnancy safely, and help him earn lots of money for the three of us."
A few minutes later, Frederick Fairfax emerged, looking fragile.
"You didn't even bring me a glass of water! You used to always bring me water. Our feelings have faded," he accused the moment he walked out.
Olivia Young patted her belly. "I'm a pregnant woman. I can't overexert myself."
Would handing over a glass of water really be too much?
"Do you have a problem with that?"
"No."
Frederick Fairfax slowly squatted down, resting his chin on her thigh, gazing up at her flat stomach with puppy-dog eyes.
"Little one, you came a bit suddenly."
"Dad wasn't prepared at all."
Frederick Fairfax looked up at her. "Xiyue, once this baby is born, let's not have any more, okay?"
"Uh..."
"You don't like kids?"
Olivia Young ran her fingers through his hair, massaging gently. "I really do like little ones. Isn't Yana just adorable?"
She did like kids!
But...
Whenever his wife gets pregnant, he gets morning sickness.
That's the first reason.
He even feels bad when it's just her with the symptoms.
But most importantly, Olivia Young's irresistible charm didn't just attract love rivals—even little babies were drawn to her.
Two kids would already demand so much of her attention; if there was a third, Frederick Fairfax couldn't bear to imagine how little time his wife would have for him.
Just thinking about it was terrifying.
"No more. Two is enough."
Absolutely, no more kids.
If necessary, he'd get a vasectomy.
Frederick Fairfax was firmly against a third child.
At dinner that night, Olivia Young told Yana the good news.
Little Yana sat in her high chair, eyes wide and sparkling. "There's a baby in there?"
"That's right. You were in Mom's belly too, once."
"Mom, are you tired?"
"A little, but Mom loves Yana so much that it's all worth it." Olivia Young gently stroked her head. "But from now on, you need to be careful. Don't go charging into Mom anymore — you have to be gentle."
Yana nodded. "Okay! I understand~"
Olivia Young had a great appetite and enjoyed every bite.
Frederick Fairfax, however, felt waves of nausea at the mere smell of the fish on the table.
His handsome face twisted in misery. "Honey, I'm suffering..."
"Then go throw up."
So cold-hearted!
Just three words and she dismissed him.
Yana watched Frederick Fairfax’s retreating back. "Mom, what’s wrong with Dad?"
"Dad’s just a little unwell. It’s nothing. Let's eat first."
Maybe it was time to put Frederick Fairfax on a maternity diet.
Just thinking about it made Olivia Young want to laugh.
Frederick Fairfax couldn't keep anything down, and only managed a little fruit in the end.
After his shower, he lay on the bed like he’d given up on life.
"Honey~"
"I need some comfort~"
Olivia Young got into bed wearing a black satin nightdress, and Frederick Fairfax's eyes nearly popped out.
On a normal day he’d have pounced on her like a starving wolf and left her covered in kiss marks.
But now, he had to restrain himself.
His wife was pregnant.
He couldn’t lose control.
Olivia Young patted her thigh, and Frederick Fairfax got the hint immediately, laying his head on her lap, face burrowed against her soft, fragrant stomach.
She stroked his hair with one hand and held her phone in the other. "It says online that to alleviate morning sickness, you should eat small, frequent meals. Don’t force it; if you can’t eat, just leave it. Morning sickness is usually worse at night and in the afternoon."
Frederick Fairfax whimpered. He was already feeling awful.
Mostly, he just tried to tough it out.
"After twelve weeks, it’ll be much better. Hang in there, hubby! You’ve done this before — I know you can get through it!"
Frederick Fairfax squeezed her fingers, eyes pitiful. "After twelve weeks, can I get a little reward?"
"Sure!"
Of course!
She agreed right away. The details could wait.
Actually, this arrangement worked out pretty well. She was pregnant, so she also needed to eat small, frequent meals — they could do it together.
Well, except not entirely together.
Even though she was pregnant now, Olivia Young had no intention of stopping work right away.
She still had two big cases to handle.
Frederick Fairfax also had a company to run.
The next day, Frederick Fairfax went to work looking glum, radiating cold energy from head to toe. He kept the same gloomy face through the whole meeting.
It had been a long time since the company had felt this kind of pressure.
After the meeting, everyone gathered around Ian Hope.
"What’s with the boss today?"
"His latest movie’s been a box office hit."
"The boss really rocks that pink and silver hair! So handsome!"
"Did he have a fight with the boss’s wife?"
Ian Hope cleared his throat. "Just that old problem from three years ago acting up again."
Three years ago, he’d had a strange vomiting illness.
Later, they’d heard it was morning sickness.
"The boss’s wife is pregnant!!"
"Shouldn’t he be thrilled?"
"He’s not upset because his wife is pregnant. He’s upset because when she gets pregnant, he gets morning sickness too. Poor guy."
"He’s not pitiful! That’s true love. Only someone who really, really loves his wife would get sympathy morning sickness. You all just don’t get it."
