At the promotional event for the movie "Break of Dawn," Frederick Fairfax stood on stage with his co-stars, Tara Young, Bella Snow, and others.
Suddenly, he felt his stomach churn.
Nauseated.
He wanted to throw up.
This feeling... was just like back when he’d thought he had some weird disease.
Olivia Young!!!
"Urgh~"
"Are you alright?"
The fans in the audience all looked up at Frederick Fairfax.
"Sorry, I’m not feeling well. Please, carry on without me."
Frederick Fairfax set down the microphone and left the theater.
He dashed into the restroom and vomited his guts out.
No, no, no!
How could he be pregnant?!
He’d always been careful, taken every precaution.
Except... that night, maybe—
Olivia Young had just won a big case. In her excitement, she ran to his office.
She plopped down in his lap, wiggling her waist, teasing him.
What real man could resist that?!
There were no ‘little umbrellas’ (condoms) in the office.
So...
Did they get caught this time?
Wife gets pregnant, and husband gets morning sickness?!
And now, it was happening again.
Frederick Fairfax pulled out his phone and called Olivia Young. After a few rings, the call picked up.
"Dad~"
His daughter!!
You’re about to have a little brother or sister.
"Baby, where’s Mom?" Frederick Fairfax’s voice softened.
"Mom's sleeping~"
"Then you should sleep early too. Dad will be home tomorrow."
"Byebye, Dad~"
Two-year-old Yana was already a chatterbox, able to converse with her parents.
After hanging up, Yana put away her book, tottered over on her short little legs, babbling as she went to find Olivia Young.
Mom was supposed to read with her—but Mom fell asleep first.
Yana wanted to sleep snuggled up with her mom.
She burrowed into Mom’s arms, surrounded by her soft, sweet scent. So cozy. So lovely.
She didn’t want Dad to come home.
When Dad was back, she couldn’t sleep with Mom anymore.
╭(╯^╰)╮
Bad Dad.
The next morning, Olivia Young woke up to find herself on her daughter’s soft pink little bed. The adorable girl in her arms was awake and drinking from her baby bottle.
The nanny must have gotten it for her.
"Morning, Mom~"
"Morning, baby."
Olivia Young kissed her daughter. "Wanna go to work with Mom today?"
"Yes!!"
That sweet milky voice—just listening to it melted Olivia Young’s heart.
Little princesses really were the cutest.
Olivia Young especially enjoyed dressing up her daughter. Yana had an entire closet wall just for princess dresses.
Once her little one finished her milk, Olivia Young helped her wash up and changed her into a lovely lilac princess dress, even styling her hair into two cute little buns.
She couldn't stop admiring her handiwork, cuddled her girl for a selfie, then sent it off to her husband, who was out working.
[Hubby: So cute! Honey, honey, I feel so awful…]
"Coming on that strong first thing in the morning? What’s wrong with Frederick Fairfax?"
No wonder Olivia Young misunderstood—he hadn’t explained anything at all.
Frederick Fairfax squatted in the bathroom, phone in hand. Why wasn’t his wife replying?
Alright then.
Olivia Young! Just wait, you dared ignore me.
He’d fly home today.
In his current state, he didn’t feel like going on with the movie tour anyway.
Olivia Young took her daughter to the law firm. With her sweet little voice, Yana greeted every coworker as "Auntie," stirring up everyone’s dormant maternal instincts.
The only bad news? The child they all wanted was specifically Olivia Young’s Yana.
"No way," Olivia Young said, hugging her daughter. "She’s one of a kind—limited edition, for myself only!"
"Next time you and your husband want some couple’s time, let Yana stay at my place!"
"No way, we have to take turns. This time my place, next time yours. Yana, is that okay?"
A chorus of ‘Aunties’ reached for the adorable girl.
But Yana clung to her mom and said, "Dad says I can’t just go to other people’s homes. It’s dangerous outside."
If Dad wasn’t around, she’d repeat whatever Dad always said.
"Very safety conscious," Olivia Young praised her, gently stroking her hair. Her eyes brimmed with motherly love.
"I love Mom the most~"
"Mom is my favorite. I always want to be with Mom~"
Yana brandished her lollipop, playing cute in front of Olivia Young.
"Mom loves you most too."
Nothing was cuter than a little sweetheart like her.
Just before the end of the workday, Olivia Young got a message from Frederick Fairfax.
Look downstairs.
Olivia Young stood and walked to the window. Downstairs, by a sleek black car, Frederick Fairfax was waving up at her.
Olivia Young scooped up Yana. "Baby, look, Dad’s here!"
"Dad!"
"Dad~"
Yana waved frantically, her big dark eyes sparkling like lively gems.
This was pretty great.
A second child didn’t sound so bad after all.
Another baby with her and Jingche’s genes…
"Just wait," Olivia Young texted him back, keeping it short and sweet.
A few minutes later, mother and daughter came downstairs.
Standing by the car, Frederick Fairfax gallantly opened the door. "Grand Princess, Little Princess, please get in."
Yana bounced up to the car, trying to climb in herself.
But she couldn’t manage it.
Wailing a little, Yana turned to look at her parents.
Frederick Fairfax effortlessly scooped her up and fastened her into the child seat.
He and Olivia Young took their spots: driver and front passenger.
"Lily, have you been feeling unwell lately?"
"Nope."
Olivia Young glanced back and teased Yana. "While you were gone, Dad, she slept so soundly next to me every night."
"Baby, do you like sleeping with Mom?"
"Love it!"
"Then tonight..."
"Don’t think I can’t hear you just because I’m driving—no way! Tonight, it’s my turn," Frederick Fairfax said, eyes on the road. "Keep an eye out for me, okay?"
As if he, a seasoned driver for years, needed her help watching the road?
He even got jealous over their daughter.
Yana huffed, tucking her little hands away. Bad Dad, stealing Mom the moment he gets home.
Once they got home, Yana was led off for her lessons.
Frederick Fairfax took Olivia Young by the hand, back to the master bedroom. Sitting on the sofa, he pulled her onto his lap.
"Lily~"
"Babe..."
Frederick Fairfax buried his face in her shoulder.
"What’s going on with you?" Olivia Young asked, confused. "Just days ago, you said you had to go to fan events, to do the movie promotion tour, since you’d be acting less often in the future. Now you’re suddenly home."
It wasn’t like him.
He had always loved his work.
"What happened?"
"Frederick Fairfax! Look at me and explain."
Slowly, Frederick Fairfax lifted his head. His deep eye-sockets and misty gaze were rimmed with tears.
"Who bullied you?"
Olivia Young immediately bristled, protective as ever. "Who was it?"
"Did someone get handsy with you at the event?"
How could anyone take advantage of a tall guy like him—unless he’d let them?
Frederick Fairfax pressed his palm to her lower abdomen. "Here… there might be a baby in there."
"I’m pregnant?"
He nodded. "I had morning sickness yesterday."
Olivia Young’s lips curled in a smile. "Really?"
"Unless I suddenly have stomach problems. But that’s not me, I’m not some president with mysterious gastric illness, so…" Frederick Fairfax rubbed her belly, "I think we might really have a little baby in there."
"Hubby, you’re amazing, having morning sickness for me!"
Olivia Young made a heart shape with her fingers. "I knew I picked the right man!"
"So, I bought some pregnancy tests. Let’s go check."
After all, even if Frederick Fairfax had the pregnancy symptoms, the one who's actually pregnant was her.
But why was she feeling so unreasonably happy!?
