He shook her hand off, looking at her with open contempt. Now, he didn't bother to hide his disgust for her at all.
"I'm an embarrassment? You're the one cheating and you still dare to say I'm the disgrace? Fine, let's show everyone, let them judge who's the real disgrace between us!"
With that, Eva Snow stood at the shop entrance and shouted at the top of her lungs, "Everyone, come take a look! My husband is cheating! Hurry, come and see..."
When a woman goes crazy, she's even more terrifying than a man.
Right now, Eva Snow couldn't care less about her own pride. All she wanted was to completely ruin the reputations of Yvonne Sung and Yana Quinn.
Lauren Shaw and Yancy Shaw had just finished hotpot and were about to leave when they heard Eva Snow's yelling. Out of curiosity, Lauren Shaw looked over in that direction.
Eva Snow only managed a few more shouts before Yvonne Sung stopped her, grabbing her arm fiercely and snapping, "Are you done? Enough with your madness!"
Eva Snow glared at him, her face twisted, "Now you're ashamed? Why weren't you embarrassed just a moment ago?"
Yvonne Sung was past caring about this crazy woman. Driven to the edge, he spat out, "All you Snow family people are insane!"
"Smack!" Eva Snow slapped him across the face, screaming hysterically, "You're the crazy one! Your whole family's crazy!"
This juicy scene drew a crowd. Some of the onlookers even started recording with their phones.
Noticing the commotion was getting out of hand, Shen Sylvia Shaw rushed over to soothe Eva Snow, "Cousin, there are a lot of people here. Why don't we talk about this at home instead? It's not good to cause a scene – Auntie will be furious if she finds out."
Standing at a distance, Lauren Shaw took in the spectacle with a laugh. "I never would've guessed—Yana Quinn and Yvonne Sung together, of all people. Truly shameless. Talk about loyalty!"
"Birds of a feather. Both getting exactly what they deserve," Yancy Shaw commented.
Listening to Yancy Shaw, Lauren Shaw couldn't help but sigh. Once, she'd been hopelessly infatuated with Yvonne Sung, but now she felt nothing at all. It was as if that past was nothing more than a passing illusion.
Yvonne Sung could feel eyes watching him. He glanced up and, sure enough, saw Lauren Shaw in the crowd—both of them had changed beyond recognition.
Their eyes met briefly, leaving Lauren Shaw unsettled. She lifted her chin slightly and turned to Yancy Shaw, speaking softly, "Let's go home, honey."
Yancy Shaw nodded and slid an arm around her waist as they walked away.
Yvonne Sung kept staring after her for a long time, until Eva Snow gave a cold laugh beside him. "No wonder everyone hates you now. A man who eats what's in his bowl while still eyeing the pot? If it were me, I'd find you disgusting, too! Absolutely vile!"
With that, Eva Snow stormed off.
Yvonne Sung stood there for a while, then pulled out a cigarette and lit it. He didn't get far before someone tapped his shoulder. "Sorry, sir, there's no smoking allowed here."
He silently stubbed out the cigarette, his figure lonely and dejected.
Yana Quinn walked over, worry in her eyes. "Eva Snow isn't going to do anything to hurt you, right?"
"Don't worry. Nothing she does concerns me anymore," he replied—since the decline of the Snow family, they no longer posed any threat to him.
Yana Quinn felt relieved. She knew Yvonne Sung hadn’t married Eva Snow willingly. Only she had loved Yvonne Sung with all her heart.
Moving closer, she wrapped her arms around his waist from behind. "Yuche, whether you divorce or not, I'll always wait for you."
She knew the real reason for his marriage, but she didn't care at all.
Yvonne Sung let out a long breath and looked down at Yana Quinn. For a fleeting moment, he saw Lauren Shaw in Yana Quinn's place. Pulling her into his arms, his voice hoarse, he whispered, "Yana Quinn, I'm not worth it."
People always fail to cherish what they have until it's lost. And by then, it's far too late.
Back at Lanyue Residence.
Lauren Shaw finally shed her restraints and went to the bathroom to draw a bath. No sooner had she taken her clothes off than the bathroom door slid open—Yancy Shaw walked in.
Startled, she instinctively shielded herself. "What are you doing here? I just finished filling the tub."
"I want to take a bath too," he said, his meaning clear: he wanted to bathe together.
Lauren Shaw blushed. "Can you wait until I’m done? You can come in when I’m finished."
"But I want to take a bath now." As he spoke, he began undressing, walking slowly toward her.
She'd seen him like this before, but her heart still raced uncontrollably at the sight of his firm, defined muscles. Her cheeks reddened.
When he reached her side, he pinched her waist teasingly. "You've already gotten touchy-feely with me—why so shy now?"
His words made her cheeks glow even redder. "W-What are you talking about? I don’t understand."
"How about this, then?" Yancy Shaw picked up her hand, guiding it softly...
As she followed his lead, Lauren Shaw herself started to feel feverish.
This shameless man—he really was no good!
Yancy Shaw stopped, his eyes dark with desire. Lauren Shaw looked no better, her face flushed thanks to the steamy bathroom air, her eyes glazed, cheeks rosy—so irresistible he nearly lost control.
He was up to no good, coming in like this just to tempt her. Truly infuriating.
This time, Lauren Shaw decided to take the initiative. She hooked her arms around his neck—a move that excited Yancy Shaw instantly.
"You did this on purpose, didn’t you? You’re not really here for a bath. You just want to seduce me!"
Yancy Shaw didn’t deny it. He lowered his head and kissed her lips.
The steam thickened as his kisses trailed down—from her lips, to her collarbone, to her neck, and further...
His hands didn't stay put either, wandering down her body...
Lauren Shaw could barely resist, clinging to his neck as he claimed her again and again.
Her delicate face flushed bright red. So much for a relaxing bath—she was soaking instead in his embrace, lost in his affection.
She felt herself lifted onto the bathroom counter before she realized what was happening. Yancy Shaw tilted her chin with a finger, his voice low and full of mischief, "Aren’t you going to sweet-talk me a little?"
It slowly dawned on her—this was about when she'd looked at Yvonne Sung tonight.
"Yancy Shaw, you’re being ridiculous! We ran into him after hotpot. You were there too!"
Such a petty, jealous man. She wasn’t the only one looking at Yvonne Sung—everyone was watching the show! She’d just been curious; it never crossed her mind that Yvonne Sung would turn and look back at her.
In truth, the look in Yvonne Sung's eyes wasn't exactly innocent. As a man, Yancy Shaw understood all too well, which made him uncomfortable—especially knowing Lauren Shaw had once liked Yvonne Sung. How could he not be jealous?
Sometimes, he just wanted to keep her all to himself.
Yancy Shaw brought his lips to hers, but this kiss was anything but gentle. When he finally let her go, his voice dropped low and dangerous: "Such a stubborn little mouth. Remember—don't beg for mercy later..."
