She remembered not long ago when he’d said he would give her a wedding like no other. At the time, she thought he was just saying it in passing. She never expected that he’d already been preparing all along.
A deeper smile spread across Lauren Shaw’s lips. "You really kept this well hidden from me."
“Do you like it?” Yancy Shaw gazed at her tenderly, as if stars were shining in his eyes.
Lauren Shaw looked at the wedding dress before her and nodded solemnly. “I love it.”
This dress was far more luxurious than the one she had before. She thought back to when she was getting ready to marry Yvonne Sung; back then, she’d chosen her own dress, and Yvonne Sung hadn’t even asked once about it.
So this was the difference between loving and being loved.
When they registered their marriage, she just wanted a peaceful life together. She never imagined that Yancy Shaw would capture her heart so completely.
Yancy Shaw took her hand, his voice low and gentle. “I’ve already picked a date. Next Tuesday—an auspicious day for weddings.”
“Huh?” Lauren Shaw was a little puzzled. The date was already decided? And she hadn’t even caught a hint of it.
Yancy Shaw’s eyes were warm with a hidden smile. “Don’t worry. I’ve taken care of everything. I’ve already informed your parents, and my mom and dad are handling the guest list. You don’t have to worry about a thing—just be a beautiful bride.”
Knowing that Lauren Shaw hated complicated affairs, he had taken care of every detail, just so she wouldn’t have to fret about anything.
Her heart brimmed with joy and gratitude. She wrapped her arms around him, her voice melting with affection. “Husband, you’ve done everything, so what can I do? I feel like you’re spoiling me silly.”
He’d arranged so much, yet she hadn’t noticed a thing. It all felt like a dream—too surreal to be true.
Yancy Shaw gently patted her head, his gaze filled with adoration. “You don’t have to do anything. Just show up on our wedding day and be the stunning bride.”
He knew all her preferences, and even without her knowing, he was able to prepare a wedding that would make her happy.
Lauren Shaw was at a loss for words, wrapped up in happiness as if she were floating on pink clouds.
Watching the loving atmosphere between the couple, Mia May, Maya Wells, and Cici Fox exchanged glances. Tsk, this scene, it’s almost too much for single people to handle.
The wedding was held at a resort in Bali.
Only close friends and family were invited—no media, no publicity.
Yancy Shaw always kept a low profile. Even though there was no press, he’d hired professionals to document the entire affair.
Low profile in form, but definitely not in substance.
Just the wedding dress Lauren Shaw wore was worth tens of millions, encrusted with real diamonds.
At that moment, Lauren Shaw sat in her room, which was filled with laughter and buzz.
Claire Xu, dressed in her bridesmaid dress, propped her chin with one hand while holding Lauren Shaw’s wedding shoes in the other. She frowned in thought. "Where do you think we should hide these shoes?"
Sophia Chandler suggested, “I think the closet would be a good spot.”
"No, no, that's too easy to find. Hide them under the bed," He Shuang chimed in with her idea.
Mia May took charge of guarding the door.
Maya Wells was pregnant, Cici Fox had just gotten married, so among those at the studio, Mia May was the only one still unmarried. It was a little embarrassing to think about.
The bridesmaids spent a busy while just trying to figure out where to hide the wedding shoes.
The door opened and Nina Shaw walked in. Once Lauren Shaw saw her, she brightened and tried to stand, but Nina Shaw quickly walked over and sat beside her.
Nina Shaw was more than three months pregnant now, her figure growing rounder every day. A gentle expression occasionally flickered across her face—she probably hadn’t even realized herself how she now radiated a maternal glow.
Lauren Shaw couldn’t help but remark, “Sis, you’ve put on weight.”
Nina Shaw smiled. “Of course I have. I’m not alone now—there’s another little one in my belly.”
A while back, morning sickness had caused her to lose several kilos, and Xavier Quinn had been so worried that he’d hired a five-star chef to invent new dishes for her every day. Slowly, Nina Shaw’s morning sickness passed, her appetite returned, and the weight came back before she knew it.
Lauren Shaw, dressed in a pure white wedding gown, looked absolutely enchanting.
Li Father and Li Mother both had tears in their eyes. They hadn’t felt this way when there was no wedding, but seeing her so happily married made it hard not to feel a bittersweet reluctance.
Even Owen Shaw—the family clown who was always cracking jokes—held back his teasing today.
Only in moments like this could you suddenly understand the feeling of “your cabbage being given away to someone else.” (A playful Chinese saying for marrying off your precious daughter.)
The old lady teased Owen Shaw, “Yaowen, look at Ning Ning and Sheng Sheng now... "
But before she could finish, Owen Shaw flashed his marriage certificate with Shuyun Moore. “Don’t worry, just wait for your grandson!”
Everyone was floored by this unexpected announcement from Owen Shaw.
"When did you get the certificate? You actually hid this from us?"
Owen Shaw, so often outmatched by the old lady's teasing, could finally hold his head high.
Shuyun Moore, by his side, added, “Yaowen and I just got registered. We planned to tell you after Sheng Sheng’s wedding. Plus, I’m already pregnant.”
This news was beyond joyous for the Shaw family.
Nina Shaw and Lauren Shaw looked at each other and silently gave Owen Shaw a thumbs-up.
The ceremony began.
Lauren Shaw took her father’s arm, walking slowly toward Yancy Shaw waiting on stage.
He wore a black tailcoat and a gentle smile—so different from his usual distant demeanor.
Guests whispered among themselves.
"The third young master of the Shen family really dotes on the bride. There’s no one else in his eyes but her."
"Why do you say that?"
"I’ve met him before. He’s not like this with anyone else. Honestly, I thought he was just cold-hearted by nature. Who’d guess he’d be so gentle in front of his bride? It’s almost hard to believe."
"Exactly. And look at that dress! I heard it’s hand-made, and all the diamonds on it are real."
Someone gasped in amazement.
"If only I could find a man like Yancy Shaw. I’d burn incense every day just to thank the Heavens."
On the other side, Li Mother and Mrs. Chen sat together, watching as Lauren Shaw was escorted by her father to Yancy Shaw.
Li Mother couldn’t help tearing up.
Mrs. Chen’s eyes reddened as well. Noticing Li Mother’s emotion, she said softly, “Don’t worry. As long as Sheng Sheng is with us, she’ll never be mistreated.”
Although Mrs. Chen had no daughter of her own, as a woman she certainly understood Li Mother’s feelings.
Li Mother wiped her tears—tears of joy. She smiled, “I know. Sheng Sheng and Yancheng are a perfect match.”
Mrs. Chen’s gaze was gentle. “Thank you for raising such a wonderful daughter.”
“Yancheng is also an outstanding man.”
Watching the blissful young couple, the elders had nothing left to worry about.
