Lauren Shaw maintained a calm expression—unsurprisingly, Eva Snow had lost again.
Claire Xudu couldn’t hold back her cheer. If Henry Mills hadn’t covered her mouth, her laughter would have echoed through the whole private room.
Everyone present was suppressing their laughter. After all, neither the Shen family nor the Snow family were to be trifled with. The men could joke with each other, but when it came to the women, better to just watch than join in.
Eva Snow’s vision darkened. She almost fainted from rage.
"I’ll drink this bottle for her," Yvonne Sung offered, stepping forward.
Lauren Shaw turned to look at Yancy Shaw, blatantly seeking his approval.
The rest were unexpectedly force-fed another round of sweetness from the couple.
Still unwilling to give up, Eva Snow gnashed her teeth. Losing so badly in front of so many—where was her dignity?
"Again!" she demanded.
Lauren Shaw picked up the dice and shook them. A few more rounds passed, but Eva Snow still couldn't win.
But red wine wasn’t something you chugged like this; the aftereffects hit hard, and things could get ugly.
"Enough, Yueyue. Stop playing—you've had too much. Let Yuche help you home," Sean Snow interjected.
Eva Snow was so drunk she could barely stand; even her speech was starting to slur. "Who says I’ve... had too much? Don’t... touch me!" She’d started to get drunk and unruly.
Worried she’d embarrass herself further, Sean Snow asked Yvonne Sung to take her home, but Yvonne Sung was also passed out on the couch, dead to the world.
With a heave, Eva Snow clamped her hand over her mouth and rushed to the restroom to throw up.
Everyone looked on, clicking their tongues.
After she’d all but emptied her belly in the restroom, Eva Snow stubbornly glared at Lauren Shaw. "Again!"
"Enough," Sean Snow cut in, his face dark.
Any more and she’d end up in the hospital. Lauren Shaw hadn’t touched a drop, while Eva Snow had downed three bottles of fine wine by herself.
But Eva Snow, completely drunk, refused to concede. She was determined to win back her lost pride.
Lauren Shaw glanced at her indifferently. However much she drank was her own business; she just didn't want to be accused of bullying her.
"Best not," Lauren Shaw said coolly. "If you end up in the hospital, people will say I picked on you."
"So you’re looking down on me?" Eva Snow felt humiliated as if her pride had been trampled by Lauren Shaw tonight. She couldn’t believe she’d lose every single round.
Lauren Shaw’s enigmatic look made the others think she was concerned for Eva Snow’s well-being, but Eva Snow was certain she was being mocked.
Sean Snow saw that Eva Snow could barely stand but was still putting up a brave front. He couldn’t help snapping, "If you want to make a fool of yourself, go home to do it—don’t embarrass yourself here!"
Eva Snow refused to give in, so Sean Snow called the driver upstairs to take her home.
Henry Mills gave Lauren Shaw a thumbs-up—she’d effortlessly won, leaving Eva Snow completely convinced. Chances were, Eva Snow would never dare challenge Lauren Shaw at dice again.
"Our Shengsheng was the dice champ in college," Claire Xu gloated with pride. "No one could beat her. Eva Snow really had this coming."
Eva Snow never expected Lauren Shaw to be skilled at dice. She’d planned to embarrass her in public, but ended up embarrassing herself to the point of puking.
Yancy Shaw wrapped his arm around Lauren Shaw’s waist, proud as could be. "My wife is amazing."
The others chimed in their praise, "Third Sister-in-law, you’re incredible!"
Leaning into his arms, Lauren Shaw replied, "Isn’t it because my dear husband here taught me so well?"
Everyone: Oh, so Third Brother taught her. Looks like the couple has developed some pretty refined shared hobbies. The spark between them was adorable, and the atmosphere was tooth-achingly sweet.
"Still, Madam Shen is the real deal—didn’t drink a drop, but took them both down," someone remarked.
The underlying meaning was clear—everyone was teasing Eva Snow and her husband.
Sean Snow, for his part, kept silent. After all, he hadn’t lost face himself.
He arranged for the pair to be sent home. With both Lauren Shaw and Yancy Shaw now known as dice masters, no one else dared issue a challenge.
Sean Snow, all smiles, seemed far from annoyed by Eva Snow’s drunken antics. On the contrary, he found Lauren Shaw rather interesting.
"Who knew Sister-in-law was such a pro?" he remarked.
Lauren Shaw just smiled without responding.
The men in the room started up a new game. After sitting a while, Yancy Shaw took Lauren Shaw's hand and said it was time to head home.
Sean Snow didn’t try to stop them. As the couple exited the club, Yuan Ran was waiting in the parking lot.
Upon seeing them, Yuan Ran hurried over to Yancy Shaw, looking anxious. "Third Young Master, something’s happened."
Yancy Shaw glanced at Lauren Shaw, then back at Yuan Ran, who added in an urgent tone, "Miss Li—her father’s past just got exposed."
Lauren Shaw’s brow furrowed. "Who leaked it?"
Anyone able to leak something like this must have a grudge against Li Qiuchi. Suspicion immediately formed in her mind.
"An anonymous account broke the news online that Miss Li’s father is a criminal suspect. This isn’t just about her—the company’s stock price is taking a hit too."
Li Qiuchi was an artist signed under the Shen Group’s entertainment company. Naturally, such news was bound to affect the business as well.
Lauren Shaw took out her phone and checked the trending topics. Fans usually had zero tolerance for scandals—especially something involving a homicide.
Li Qiuchi was a household name, a celebrity at the peak of her career. Even a whiff of dirt sent the tabloids into a frenzy. As the scandal caught fire, online trolls piled on, cursing without even bothering to get the facts straight.
Barely had the story broken before Li Qiuchi’s studio released a statement: "There is yet no confirmation of the reports regarding Li Qiuchi's father. We are fully cooperating with the police. Please don’t believe or spread unverified rumors."
But the online mob wasn’t satisfied.
"Since when can a murderer’s daughter be a celebrity?"
"Shouldn’t she be kicked out of the industry for this kind of scandal?"
"Someone from that company needs to step up and explain!" Netizens tagged the Shen Group’s official account, demanding a statement.
Every second, the comment section flooded with fresh angry posts—nearly all targeting Li Qiuchi. But it was her father’s crime, what did it have to do with her?
Lauren Shaw’s gaze turned steely. "Can’t we slow this down?"
"Since Miss Li is a celebrity, the heat is already through the roof. We can’t suppress it. What’s more, it looks like someone’s deliberately fanning the flames—maybe even hired online trolls to push the story," Yuan Ran replied.
On top of that, a video surfaced showing Li Qiuchi slapping Ruan An’an on set.
There were also photos of Li Qiuchi holding hands with Bryce Shaw. Although the man's face was unclear, posters claimed Li Qiuchi's 'sponsor' had finally been revealed.
"So that's why she shot to fame overnight—she had a sugar daddy backing her up all along! Poor An’an, her little face is all swollen. That’s it for me—I'm done being a fan of Li!"
"Just because you have good resources, doesn’t mean you can hit people. Isn’t that straight up bullying?"
"With a sugar daddy’s protection, she thinks she's untouchable? This kind of actress should be kicked out of the industry!"
Ruan An’an, watching Li Qiuchi being dragged online, couldn’t help but like one of the hate comments. Afterwards, she claimed her finger slipped.
Of course, the haters latched onto this and spun the story—claiming Ruan was being victimized, saying that though Li Qiuchi bullied her, nobody had defended her. Now, thousands upon thousands of internet users had come forward to back her up.
As the troll armies and haters drummed up the frenzy, even some fans began to turn on Li Qiuchi.
